In the first episode of Hyperfox Talks, we explore AI in order automation. Pieter Buteneers, founder of Structize.ai, joins Hyperfox’s Tom Devos to discuss how AI transforms unstructured data into structured insights, driving efficiency and innovation in modern workflows.

The State of AI for Order Processing
Order processing has long been plagued by inefficiencies, especially when dealing with unstructured data like emails, voicemails, or plain text orders. But as Pieter explains, AI has reached a level of maturity where it can efficiently turn this chaotic input into structured, actionable data. Generative AI is now capable of handling these challenges, streamlining workflows, and reducing manual interventions for back-office teams.
From Generative AI to Synthesis AI
One of the most fascinating shifts discussed in this episode is the evolution from Generative AI to what Pieter calls Synthesis AI. Unlike Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which often struggles with accuracy in dynamic environments, Synthesis AI excels by summarising valuable information into structured outputs. This next-gen AI approach is not only more accurate but also more adaptable, paving the way for smarter, faster order automation.
The agentic system vs. main/critic configuration
Tom and Pieter also tackled the debate around different AI configurations for processing and validating data. The Agentic System, where multiple AI agents validate each other’s outputs, is effective but can be energy- and time-intensive. Instead, Pieter highlights the promise of a Main/Critic setup:
- A main LLM processes the input and generates the output.
- A critic LLM validates the output, leveraging AI's natural strength in identifying errors or inconsistencies.
This setup ensures high accuracy while being more efficient and scalable—a game-changer for companies looking to automate their order management processes at scale.
Looking ahead
This first roundtable discussion highlights how AI is reshaping order automation in ways we couldn’t have imagined just a few years ago. From handling unstructured data to pioneering Synthesis AI and smarter validation systems, businesses in Belgium and beyond are poised to benefit immensely from these advancements.
